STEP Code for Will Preparation in England & Wales
On the 1st April 2014 the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Code for Will preparation in England and Wales came into effect which introduced a binding set of principles and expected practices for all members of STEP in England & Wales.
The STEP Code for Will preparation lays out a set of ethical principles that demonstrate openly the standard of transparency and service a client can expect from a STEP Member preparing their Will. Its introduction follows the government’s call for professional bodies to develop their own code of conduct specifically covering Will writing in England & Wales.
Members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners include the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field of Wills, Trusts and Estates. Rowberry Morris have three Full Members of STEP, those being Helen Greenwood (Tadley), Mary Collyer (Reading) and Roger Crouch (Staines & Richmond). All lawyers in our Private Client Department adhere to the STEP Will Writing Code to ensure that all work relating to Will preparation meets standards consistent with that Code.
