Care Lawyer - Reading Office

Rowberry Morris are looking for a solicitor / CILEX / barrister to join our Reading Office to work with our Child Care department. We are looking for a candidate with empathy and enthusiasm.

The successful candidate will have experience in acting for Parents involved in Care Proceedings and attending PLO meetings. Membership of or willingness and suitability to apply to join the Children Panel an advantage.

All candidates must be local to our Reading office or within 30 minutes of travel to enable face-to-face meetings with clients in the office and attendance at court when required.

Role requirements:

  • Interest and experience in court advocacy
  • Preparation and conduct cases efficiently in accordance with the firm’s policies
  • Development of caseload and development of the department
  • Use of IT systems including case management software
  • Compliance with Money Laundering procedures and GDPR
  • A passion for dealing with vulnerable clients

Trainee or Qualified Lawyer wishing to convert to childcare

Rowberry Morris are looking for trainee or qualified lawyer wishing to convert to childcare or return after a career break to join our Reading Office to work with our Child Care department. We are looking for a candidate with an empathy and enthusiasm to join our renowned team and to help some of the most vulnerable people in society.

The successful candidate will have a real commitment to providing access to justice to the most vulnerable and a passion for advocacy.

All candidates must be local to our Reading office or within 30 minutes of travel to enable face-to-face meetings with clients in the office and attendance at court when required.

Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner

Rowberry Morris is looking for a Residential Property Solicitor, Legal Executive or Conveyancer to join our Staines office.

Skills/Experience

  • Qualified fee earner with experience in residential property;
  • Manage a varied caseload of residential property transaction from inception to registration
  • Experience of dealing with freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfer of equity.
  • Ability to prioritise work, function efficiently under pressure and remain calm and professional
  • Ability to work to set deadlines and produce accurate work
  • Manage a small team and delegate work appropriately
  • Manage client expectations and deliver exceptional Customer Service
  • Enthusiasm and a positive “can do” attitude, with a willingness to continued learning and development   

Duties include:

  • Preparing and finalising contract packs
  • Ordering searches and reviewing the results
  • Preparing reports on title
  • Progressing cases from exchange to completion including all associated administration
  • Dealing with the post completion aspects of transactions
  • Responding and dealing with Land Registry enquiries
  • Undertaking file reviews

Legal PA / Secretary / Paralegal

Rowberry Morris is looking for an experienced Legal PA / Secretary / Paralegal to join our team in Tadley. Full training will be given in relation to our practices, procedures and systems.

Skills/Experience

  • Experienced legal secretary, full or part time considered.
  • Ability to prioritise work, function efficiently under pressure and remain calm and professional.
  • Ability to work to set deadlines and produce accurate work.
  • Ability and desire to deliver exceptional Customer Service.
  • Enthusiasm and a positive “can do” attitude.

Duties include:

  • Taking and accurately recording client calls.
  • Taking new client enquiries.
  • Conflict, ID and AML checks.
  • Opening new files.
  • Audio typing (Philips dictation, SOS case and accounts management).
  • Monthly billing.
  • Liaising with team to manage enquiries and workflow to ensure comprehensive service to clients.

Helpful to have:

  • Knowledge of SOS, Office 365 and Excel.
  • excel and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Familiarity contentious and non-contentious work types.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of team.

Salary will be competitive appropriate to experience.
