Fatal accident claims

By Katie Surey - Posted on 01 July 2008

Just like making a Will, most of us don't like to think about 'what might happen' in the event that one of us dies. If however someone in your family does die and their death was caused by the negligence of someone else, then you may well be able to bring a claim for damages. It will never bring your loved one back, but where you are entitled to bring a claim and when you have been put to financial loss because of someone else's fault, then it should be no different to bringing any other claim for damages. And some claims can be for significant sums, especially when the deceased was the breadwinner and had young family to support.

Liability

Just because a loved one has died, it doesn't mean that there is automatically a claim. You should take advice from a Solicitor who specializes in Personal Injury law as to whether the claim is likely to succeed or not.
